Highly unlikely you’re going to get this done in one sitting, and I’d guess he’s somewhere around 150/hr or more. Once in a while an artist may do a multiple sitting piece over a few day period (convention, guest spot situation) but they usually prefer not. And despite what you think is a high pain tolerance when you’re sitting in one place for several hours having you’re chest chewed up trust me you’ll be changing your mind about one session. Obviously you’ll have to talk to him about it and decide what you want to do and if you’re willing and able to travel for the second sitting if necessary. For my last piece which was two long sessions the artist was near me for a guest spot so the first sitting was convenient. I had to drive 4 hours for the second session but it ws well worth it.
Again, some of the other artists you posted are competent and should be able to do a good job as well if that’s the route you’re forced to take.
Thats what I was thinking. And his shop is only 2hours away from me so if he can’t do it at the convention I can go down to him a few times. Whatever works I’m pretty set on Larry if he wants to do the peice the drive and cost are worth having a stellar peice on such a large area as my chest.
