She has is a total sanitary/health FREAK who washes her hands 90 times a day, has NO tattoos at all, would NEVER even remotely consider getting a tattoo, has never even studied up or read up on them and has never seen a documentary on TV about them, but she makes it a point to remind anyone who she knows that has a tattoo/multiple tattoos that, by having that/those tattoo(s), they are now forever excluded from ever donating blood again or ever donating bone marrow. But the problem is, even if someone were to show her proof printed online that those claims aren’t true, she would refuse to believe them.

Does she sound like a total hypocrite/know-it-all or can you see where she’s coming from?

Yes…everyone is entitled to an opinion on anything…whether they know what they are talking about or not. Ignorance does not mean that you aren’t entitled to have an opinion on it.

Hypocrite? No. Hypocrite is more akin to the dad that tells his son he can’t smoke with a cigarette sticking out of his mouth.

Have you shown her proof for her to refuse as evidence to her inaccuracy? If not…here:

Blood Donation: http://www.redcross.org/en/eligibility (THE AMERICAN RED CROSS)

    Tattoo
Wait 12 months after a tattoo if the tattoo was applied in a state that does not regulate tattoo facilities. This requirement is related to concerns about hepatitis. Learn more about hepatitis and blood donation. Acceptable if the tattoo was applied by a state-regulated entity using sterile needles and ink that is not reused. There are 32 states that currently regulate tattoo facilities. You should discuss your particular situation with the health historian at the time of donation.

Bone Marrow Donation: http://www.psbc.org/programs/marrow_guidelines.htm (THE NATIONAL MARROW DONOR REGISTRY)

PIERCING/TATTOO: Donors who have received a body piercing or tattoo are acceptable, if sterile, non-shared instruments were used. If the piercing/tattoo occurred in the last 12 months, you will be able to join the national Registry, but you will not be allowed to donate blood stem cells for 12 months from the date of the piercing/tattoo.

Now that you have the information we can drop the subject of you and your in-laws…

I wonder?,Has your sister ever been to hospital for anything? I can guarentee that there are more germs there than in a studio!
I think people of course can have their own opinions, but if they refuse to listen to others please don’t talk to me about theirs!

Once again, this is a tattoo website. You are making me lose the will to live, seriously.

Are you sure that doesn’t have to do with the fact that you’re from England? Again, you don’t seem to be grasping what I’m trying to get at with the whole America-England thing.

Anyone want to help him out here? Anyone?

Seriously mate, is that the best you can come up with? You can’t find anything to throw at me other than my nationality? Would you be saying the same if I was from Pakistan? Because then you’d be labelled a racist prick. There is no difference. Bizarrely, the first time you mentioned it, I thought you were joking and I responded in a jokey manner. But I was wrong, you are just a moron. I could make a lot of stereotypes about Americans, but I won’t stoop so low ๐Ÿ™‚

And I am a woman, by the way.

Why on earth would I joke about something like that? And no, it wouldn’t make a difference if you were from Pakistan or Sri Lanka or Japan or China or Austria or France or Bosnia or Poland or anywhere else. I would still hold it against you. I would! (Shrugs). And wow…you’re not only from England, but you’re a woman too? And I’m sure after the two threads I’ve posted, we can all pretty much understand what my thoughts on women are. (Rubs his chin as he tries to wipe the smirk off his face) Wow. I’m not…I’m gonna…I…(struggling to restrain himself)…yeah, I’m just not even going to go there on that one. Wow…from England AND a woman?! Wow.
