For the hypoglycemia I was just worried because I’d read that it does spike the blood sugar. I have gotten close to passing out with extensive blood draws before, so it definitely was a concern.
You normally don’t actually bleed a lot during a tattoo, unless you’re hungover, drunk, on drugs or like me; some type of bleeders disease. Usually very little.
But just bring anything that will bring up your blood sugar, and make you artist aware of it 🙂 No way to tell until you get tattooed! But hopefully you’ll be just fine 🙂

I don’t have hypoglycemia but nearly went down once during a long session (at about the 7 hour point). I didn’t know what the problem was right away, I just didn’t feel ‘right’. A little snack and I was right back to normal. I eat well before a tattoo but never get hungry during, so I try to have a couple of nibbles every time the artist takes a break and that is enough to keep my BS up.
You know what symptoms to watch for, so you should be OK. Bring a couple of snacks – a handful or two of nuts, some fruit, maybe something good and sugary. And have a bite or two every once in a while.
Good luck!

I’m a bit of a “newbie” myself, having just gotten my first tattoo yesterday. I am, however, also hypoglycemic. I pass out even when they do blood tests and take out just that tiny vial of blood. What I did was eat lots of carbs before I went, for slow release sugar, and took a soda for just in case I started to tap out. Being well prepared is what made me feel better, and my tattoo went smoothly. I had no problems with fainting or anything.
