    Hi, I had a tattoo done on my foot on Monday but I am still in quite a lot of pain and still have swelling. I have been to the doctor and have been assured that its not infected and I do not have any puss or anything. I am just a little confused as to why its so painful still.
    If anyone has any advice that would be great.

    It is painful because you just caused major trauma to your skin.

    Did you think it wasn’t going to hurt?

    I knew it was going to hurt I just never knew it would be for this long. The swelling and pain lasted a lot longer than any of my other tattoos so I thought maybe something wasn’t right.

    Different people react differently to tattoos in different places.
    I can imagine the foot being pretty bad, since there’s relatively little skin and fat covering the muscles and bone.

    yep, my SO had her foot tattood and it was swollen and sore a few weeks after. its a touchy area for a lot of people.

    If you are concerned at all though always see a doctor.

    my foot tattoo took ages to heal.. I assume because the area has quite poor blood flow.
    When it finally healed fully (after about 3 months!) it was fine. I was also concerned for a while :0)
