Hi!

How faded does black ink need to be for a cover up?

I have a distinct shape on my arm and I want to get it covered. I spoke to a few artists about covers who all recommended I get some laser to fade the black lines and then it would be a lot easier to cover.

 

So does it have to be gone back to skin colour or can new ink go over it if it’s gone greyish?

I tried googling but couldn’t find any proper references on this.
