I just can’t get into the new stuff. I am a hip-hop fan… at heart. I don’t like the hip-hop of now or what it started becoming like a few years ago. However, there are some rappers who come out with new stuff like Nas and DMX. I still have respect and love for them. Same with Ghostface. But most of the rap music I can’t get into. Same with R&B becoming really cheesy these days. I respect artists like Corinne Bailey Rae and Amel Larrieux. I mainly listen to music from the 1990s, like old Wu-Tang, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, and R&B acts like Jodeci, Boyz II Men, Blackstreet and others. Is anybody the same way? A friend of mine told me that I just don’t like new music. Well, I just can’t get into the new stuff, that’s why.

My fiance and I met in ’93, just out of high school, and we love all that Old School and New Jack Swing music (back then, it wasn’t so old, LOL). He likes Digable Planets – I’m a Tribe Called Quest fan! And we both still enjoy the first D’Angelo album.

I still appreciate the old stuff. Im only 18 but I really can’t get into this new stuff either. I don’t think I will ever understand the song A Bay Bay or Chicken Noodle Soup. There’s really no point or meaning to them anymore. I wish people would start making that old school hip hop and R&B again. Music isn’t as enjoyable as it used to be. I like to listen to songs for meaning and the songs that they’ve been coming out with lately have no meaning. I agree with you completely.

Yes I like all the people you listed, I still like some now-A-day rap(hip-hop) people Common, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Cassidy Bone thugs N Harmony. But I think the R&B need to be refreshed Swv needs to come back, Whitney Houston, Xscape, Jodeci, BOYZ II men etc.
