…culture.? Why is black youth music and culture often more violent then white kids music and culture.

People can be into any scen and you get idiot white kids tryign the gangster culture and black guys into metal.

But mostly seems all the hip hop, grime etc is into this scum
gang, hard man, thug, hgangster, wear trousers down butt as you actually support scumbag dirt who deseserves to be in prision with people wanting to intimidate each other and kill each other over theis looney tunes notion of dont dis me respect.

Im sorry real respect is gained from protecting others and acievement. not bing biggest thug.

Whilst more white music is about love and Hippy festivasl where everyone is nice and caring and soppy fluffy psitrance glow in the dark clothes psi trance music

With even heavey metal clubs with the violent imgagry , never actually turning that into rerality where their clubs are all peaceful and who cares if drinsk are spilt or somone bumps into you.
So why does rap and gangster culture relate into reality whilst heavey metal does not?

That is the most untrue statement of the year and you know it. I haven’t heard a song about Hippy festivals in my entire life, and I listen to almost every genre of music (except for certain country and that genre where they bite chickens heads off or something). Anyway, yes some rap is violent, but it is an extreme or hardcore form or music at times. There are a lot of rap songs that are only about a dance or a relationship or money. The same could go for a certain genre of music that is mainly produced by white people. There are genres of “black” music other than rap that are mostly about relationships and things like that (R&B, soul, etc.)

The answer is obvious – does any level headed, law abiding person need to ask this question?

It’s a reflection of a view of reality. If you feel helpless a lot of time violence seems like your only resort. I think things are getting better though. People are sick of this and aren’t buying it.

It is violent because the people who create it are violent, and the people who listen to it are enamored with the violent criminal lifestyle it represents.
    Black OR wigger.

Unfortunatley I think It’s an issue of social class/ecomony. The youth cultures associated with high levels of violence (including the music-based sub-cultures you mention here) are those that are popular in areas of high poverty/unemployment. The violence occurs when musicians, who are telling it how it really is, point out the unfairness of the situation. art imitates life, life imitates art and self fulfilling prophesy ensues.

When these “gangster” rappers are making music. They are usually doing that of which reflects their lives. Most of them are fabricating it to some degree. But the ones that talk about being homeless, and having to do things they aren’t proud of, well thats their life. Just because its in a song doesn’t mean it never happen.

because of the nature of the beast. look in the jails and see the population there. NO, SEE IT. And i believe you have genuine perceptions here. as to why, perhaps this is what they enjoy. YEAH, I KNOW.

I agree with what you said… but hip hop and rap doesn’t turn poeple into thugs, it is a product of poor ghettoes… it comes from there, it is a product of the violence, and it does promote violence….
In short, rap and hip hop is a product of violence, but rarely produces violence… unless two douche bags decide to kill each other over it… (cough… Tupac)…

But hey, don’t school shooters tend to listen to angry metal music?

But still, rap is on its way out, sales of all rap and hip hop CDs are down 30% so cheer up!
