If you can stand the subtitles, it will make you weep. It’s about the holocoust and the great lengths a father goes to, just to protect his son from the war.
“Zatoichi” – A Japanese movie about a blind swordsman. It’s not the typical martial arts flick, though. It has a fair bit of drama and some dry quirky humour.
“The Red Violin” – A French movie that follows a violin through five different countries and time periods.
