does anyone know what could be going on? i’ve had this tattoo for 3 years, and it is just now getting a bad reaction. funny thing is it’s only happening on the red ink, the skin is really dry and itchy, and is begining to scar badly. has anyone ever heard of this happening after allready having the tattoo for 3 years before?

Well usually a person has a reaction within the first couple weeks, but red is the color most people have an illurgic reaction too, due to the murcury in the pigment used. Most likely your having a delaid reaction somehow. Good Luck!

Probably not related, but I have a piece that became raised all of a sudden after about 7 years, raised and very very itchy. Funny thing is it was just the one piece that had this reaction. I went to the doctors and asked for his opinion and he told me about the scaring/scratching of the way the tattoo was done (very aggressively) was reacting due to me being dehydrated, wierd but made sense. I took in loads of fluids and the raised and itchy piece went down and the itch became soothed.
If we intend putting alien bodies into our skin we have to be preared for reactions occasionally.
    Wierd but true.:(

It’s only happening with the red ink though?

Dehydration would cause the whole thing to raise not just a part.

Things do work in mysterious ways, I’ll give it that.
