Ok so I got my first tattoo done the other day and it’s starting to get little scabby bits on it. This is normal… right?

It is also starting to get a little itchy aswell. Is this just because it’s beginning to heal?
dont tell me to put vaseline on it…!!!
you obviously havn’t a clue what your talking about! vaseline pulls the colour out!!!

I have 5 tattoos and my boyfriend is a tattoo artist. Scabbing is very normal, its just the ink ad blood drying up into a scab. Itching is EXTREMELY NORMAL! Just do not scratch it! i know it is reallllyyyyyyy annoying but just try and pat it! =) To take care of it, you should of used a & d ointment or ink fix you put a very light layer on it and dab it witha paper towel, that’s how much you don’t want to over moisturize it… This way it can still scab and heal! After a few days start using a NON SCENTED lotion. Lubiderm is the best, it’s in a white and light blue bottle… Use a light layer of that a few times a day… Ckean with anti bacterial soap, do not over clean or over moisturize. Good luck sweety!

Do not put vaseline… Just do what i said, trust me =)

Im no expert but maybe the tattoo is iritating your skin. It’s perfectly normal just dont pull/ scratch any of the scabs off. They will fall naturally.

Yes of course scabbing is perfectly normal…you have “wounded” your skin, and the scabbing is the body’s normal reaction to it…DON’T pick at it or scratch it…it will gradually fall off all by itself. You can probably continue to put a bit of neo-sporin on it to moisten the scabs this will help with the itching.

the fact is that you have just had a lot of needles stuck into your skin piercing it.

of course it will scab over

thats gonna happen anytime you break the skin in any way.

juts try not to pick at it and keep it clean and out of the sun
