Alot of times if your tat gets a heavy scab on it, then you are going to loose ink…..some places say use a&d, or something like that, which will cause a scab…..I have found however that using aguaphor for the first 2 days and then altering between that and non scented lubriderm is better, i have 3 that didnt scab at all and are still bright after 7 years…..if you have to get a touch up, ask your artist about doing what i just said so that you decrease the chance of a scab and thus loosing your ink again

Sometimes this happens – the black will ALWAYS be a lot darker before it heals. Some ink leaches out of the tattoo while it’s healing, and this is completely normal. It is not a sign of poor quality work – sometimes the best tattoo artist can apply a tattoo that, after it’s healed, ends up having a few lighter areas.

If you think it’s too pale, go back to the tattoo artist and tell them you think it needs to be touched up. A good artist takes responsibility for his or her work, and will do touch-ups either for free or at a very minimal cost.

    Good luck!

Well the tattoo wasn’t done properly or that wouldnt of happened. You will have to go back in and have it retouched. They should do it for free, most shops do. Good luck!
