I’m in the military and I plan on getting some new tattoos in addition to the one I have on my forearm. My question is whether it is necessarily better to go ahead and get a tattoo while I’m still average sized or wait until after I go across the pond and come back a lot bigger?

you need to put on some serious weight to make a difference.

i would do it whenever you feel best. but if your gonna put on a lot of weight then make sure you take care of your skin. use a Zinc supplement to prevent stretchmarks

I cant advise on when its best, but a very good freind of mine went into the military after highschool. He was a weight lifter and football player. He was all built up and solid. After about 2 years in the army he came back a good bit smaller but way stronger and more solid. I wouldnt expect to get to bulked up, you may or may not. You will probably come back alot more solid though. Getting all bulked up requires a lot of gym time, which most military people dont have time to commit to.

How much bigger are you expecting to get? I think you would have to be about double the size you are now for it to make any difference what so ever, if any. Skin stretches in a very regulated way and will grow with you so you won’t actually stretch the form of the tattoo out of shape if you do go huge. It isn’t like the rapid growth of a prenant women, even then some women manage to keep the skin and art in proportion to what it was.

I was always told that as long as you put on/lose wieght safely and healthy your tats will be fine. However, way not wait since you’ll have more money saved when you get back and you might also change some of your views while you’re over there and want to get a different tattoo once ya get back.
