i’m looking to get my first tattoo. i want something original and meaning full. I have been looking for some time now. but nothing has poped up. i want something that has to do with the water or wind. because i am a kiteboarder, and i love the water. is there any suggestions you guys can give? i’d appreciate it.

I have an idea… you may think it’s dumb but hey… whateve, I’m just putting it out there.
I am really big into symbolism. Maybe you could incorporate a kite into a tattoo design. I know I know, it’s completely different than kite boarding but it would be a good story, something somewhat comical since an actual kite has nothing to do with the sport.
Below is a simple kite photograph I found. But I really like the shape. So I thought that would be a kool design to start out with. Then you could sort of wrap water waves around it or something.

One thing about both elements water and wind is that they are hard to portray in tattoos unless they are done the right way. There’s water in my tat but it’s very vague and stylized to match my design. It would have to be something like that. I got turned down by an artist for wanting to incorporate water in my design…

but acutally a kite is very well involved with kiteboarding. Alot of people don’t know much about it. so i’ll give you guys some backround on it..
I have four sponsors, which are Transcend kiteboarding (clothing company), Water Sports West (local shop), Eclipse kiteboarding (kite company), and Full Throttle (energy drink). So it’s a pretty big part of my life. and i never want to forget it.
it’s a combination of wakeboarding, sailing, windsurfing, surfing, and tons of other sports all in one. you use a kite to propel you through the water on a twin tip style kiteboard, similar to a wakeboard, but flatter, and different type of bindings. i’ll attach some pictures to clarify what it is.
you’ve actually got a great idea, as a kite for kiteboarding is a pretty good shape to be in a tat.
