Well I had a tribal tattoo done 1 1/2 weeks ago…Most of the scabbing is gone, however my tattoo is all black tribal and it is grey under the scabs….
Is this still another part of the healing process??? Its my first Tatttoo and I’m not in a hurry to get it to heal, I just want to make sure its going thru the right steps. I don’t really know what to expect at this point.

Thanks in advance to all ….This site rocks!!!

Hi it could be part of the process! Tattoos do look like they are faidng during the healing period and for the majority of people the colour, whatever colour, does come back. If though at the end of say 4 weeks, ample healing time, your ink still looks more grey than black then go back and ask the artist whats what with the colour. Hope this helps 🙂

Thanks inkbits, I’ll def. let it go for a while,,,,,I’m only into the healing about 10 days. So I just want to make sure that I’m or its doing what it should do to get thru the healing correctly.

    I appreciate your reply allot

Hiya. Solid black should heal black. After a week and a half, you should be starting to see the darkness of the ink. We are not all using the same inks, and people do heal differently regarding colourwork.
The grey you see will go within afew days, and should get blacker as you heal.
