Okay so i got my very first tattoo two weeks ago, almost three. Its on my wrist and goes all the way to half my fore arm. Its of cherry blossoms and is in black ink. So i did everything the tattoo artist said, and the tattoo still looks awesome, but because i see it so much, i’ve noticed some imperfections. Some of the lines have faded and its gone really shiney, but the shinieness (if thats a word) is patchy… Im scared that its my fault this has happened or its not done healing yet… Its also faded a bit. I kept it moisturised but it still scabbed a bit, but it wasnt dry, was like gooey………… As i said, really worried its my own fault its not as perfect as it was when it was first done. Any help would be much appreciated!

your putting on too much ointment! i reccomend using Aquaphor. its the second best thing to use behind H2Ocean. basically put on your ointment and rub off any extra on it.

ya the ointment is supposed to be a very thin layer. But give it another week and if things don’t look any better, go back to your tattoo artist and ask them what they think you should do. It’s also hard to help without pictures.

Hmm.. i dont think it is the ointment thing, cuz my tattoo artist told me not to put heaps on so i’ve basically just been putting on enough to cover it. Maybe i’ve not been putting enough on?
Im going back to my tattooist on monday so hopefully get it cleared up then! thanks for the help anyway!
