i would like my first tattoo to be a picture of my father who passed on 9/11. i think its such a perfect picture because of how he is looking up. i wanted to ask for any ideas for things i can maybe add to it. so far i want his name and maybe “never forget”. also maybe something like a focused light coming in from where he is looking. im 17, but in about 3 months ill be 18 so i want to be ready to get this tattoo, ive had this idea for a very long time now.
thats a very good idea you have there…. now would you like to go black and grey or colour?
i like the light idea also… this tattoo if done right will be epic…..
i think i would do color because i have an idea for a sleeve that would probably be black and grey. i would want to have that contrast.
I think the light shining down on him would be an excellent idea and I’d recommend keeping the photo as is. So is this going to be apart of that sleeve you were talking about or somewhere else? I think you should keep the background but phase it out into the skin. Maybe you should incorporate 911 in the tattoo somewhere, “never forget,” and his date of birth/passing. What do you think?
this is going to be a great tattoo – i also love the idea of the light coming down…probably should make this a back piece, right?
its not part of the sleeve, thats a whole other thing. im thinking of a background with his ladder co. truck. i think i will do the birth/passing dates and his name. i was gonna have it on my right bicep, but the back idea is a possiblity. i didnt really think of that.
If you put it on your back, you’ll have much more room for detail, but the pain is a little more substantial than the arm.
The back would be great for adding in more detail and having it larger but I’d also consider ,it being such a personal tattoo if you want it in a place thats difficult to see (compared to the arm at least).
