    Hello.

    I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum.
    My name is Matthew I am a native Brit (Leeds) and I have been an avid tattoo/art fan since I was a child.

    I got my tattoos quite late on in life (My first was at 26) which was to celebrate the fact that I got married.
    The second was around 12 months ago, which was done in San Francisco (Zombie Tattoos).

    I am currently in design for a back-piece and may have some questions on design concept when I am closer to the final stages (hope you don’t mind).
    I am also a keen (amateur) writer and I am considering a piece of work that will cover my two main passions; Tattooing and Culture.

    I am not sure if I am breaking any rules but i would be keen to record and share personal experiences (and tattoo art ) with yourselves so that I can perhaps write a piece that tackles the issue of tattooing and cultural taboos. :confused:

    Realistically there is not going to be any best seller or ‘profit’ I am doing this for the joy and interest of the subject.

    Thoughts and opinions especially welcome.
    Also I hope you enjoy my tattoos as much as I enjoy the ones I have seen on here.

    It would be in your best interest to ask the individuals you record from, if you can use them in your writings. If it were me, I’d be much more willing to help you if we had an agreement of some sort. Welcome to the forum by the way. Show us your goods, by goods I mean ink..

    Thank-you for your reply. I do have a contractual agrement that I have used in other works that I would apply.

    Basically it means that although the person is allowing me to use their expriences or art full acknowledgement is noted to the owner. This would be put clearly on any images or direct quotes from that person.

    I am trying to develop a piece that explores why we get tattooed, the meanings of the tattoos to ourself ,and to society that views it and any negative experiences people have had with others about their tattoos, and how they overcome this.

    I have no wish to steal or infringe copyright so full permissions are always sought out with a clear usage policy. I can also apply a annonimity clause as well as some ppl wish to remain anonymous due to culture pressure about their tattoos.

    I will pop up a post outlining the project in an apropriate section of the board.

    I did they are in my album – might get some better pics done as my camera sucks but might treat myself for my b’day to a better one.

    Also I am up in your stomping ground soon – will have to let you know and see if you lot have any decent coffee shops/cafes now that I hear you have discovered this wonderful invention we notherners like to call fire. 😀
