    Heya I’m new here.

Well… My name’s Vlad and I’m 17. Live in NYC, and still suffering through my final year of High School, going into Journalism in college next year.

I plan on getting multiple tattoos starting in December (when I turn 18), some custom made, some just certain images. I’ve always been really into tattoos and piercings. So yeah. 😎

Currently I plan on getting 3. Getting one, letting it heal, getting the 2nd, healing it, and then the 3rd.

I want the “Godsmack” logo (music means a lot to me), right underneath my elbow. I’d say around 2 inches by 2 inches.

Then I want the lyrics, “Should I grow another shell, and not forgive”, making a spiral on my other arm, also beneath my elbow. I’m thinking it would be what would be considered font size “16” or “18”, so it’d be pretty small.

The 3rd and final one for now is the Seether “Uterus” design, with a red tribalistic background, on my wrist. I’d be pretty small, maybe a bit over an inch in width, and 2 in length. It represent where we all came from, and no matter how far we go, we shouldn’t ever forget that, so I really think that’s a great thing to remember.

    Hi Vlad

I like the idea of your tattoo designs.
I would recommend that perhaps you consider getting them where you can keep them covered. Since I was 18 I have changed my profession no less than 6 times.

Many of these places would not employ me if I had visible tattoos. It sucks but that is the way of life.
    Anyhow good luck with it.

    Thanks.

Well, I don’t know what I’ll end up doing, but my two main job hopes/goals is either:

    A. A independent paper/ magazine journalist. Something small, so it can be more personal, the pay is worse, but it’s better then being forced to write about something you disbelieve in.

    B. Grade School English Language Arts teacher. I like kids, and I feel grade school is a time where they can be influenced and you have an actual effect on them.

I figure with long sleeve shirts, the two under my elbows wouldn’t be a big problem. I can’t be sure, but I don’t think I’ll walk into the interview and they’ll ask me to roll my sleeves up.

The wrist one is the one I’m most undecided about. I think I’d prefer the wrist, but if I feel that my job would conflict with the tattoo, I’d probably get it done on my shoulder blade.

Thanks for the info though, I’m completely dreading the day when I have to retire my Labret when I get a real job. I think when I go to college in September, I’ll talk to all my professors about the job fields, and what all the journalist/editor type jobs feel about tattoos.
