I saw this super cool tattoo and I can’t remember what it’s called. The guy got it in Tahiti and it is a specific symbol of some kind. In the center is a circle with designs in it and tribal stuff around it. The circle was split in 4 pieces IIRC and I think was different colors. Does anyone know what this symbol is or have a picture of it?

Dude man, are you serious? There’s got to be millions of those things, not counting random meaningless scribbles that look like and are called tribals. What you’re asking for is pretty much impossible.

    Love. Peace. Metallica.

This isn’t a random design but a specific symbol with a specific name. I thought it was just a cool design when I first saw it and later came to learn it was not.

CIRCLE (quartered): The sacred circle filled with a cross, four equal lines pointing from the center to the spirits of the north, east, south, and west — or to the basic element: earth, water, air (or wind), and fire. In Native American traditions, it forms the basic pattern of the MEDICINE WHEEL and plays a vital part in major spiritual rituals. Many contemporary pagans consider it their main symbol for transmitting the energy of the goddess.

as far as the IIRC…I couldn’t find that anywhere…

Possibly a funked up version of one of these:

    Quote:
In the Gambier Islands, tattooing was compulsory for men and in Mangareva they had a special design. When a boy reached adolescence, he had a circle tattooed above his armpits and on his back. As he grew older, the inside of the circle was progressively darkened, finally leaving a white cross in the middle.

Just do a google on Polynesian/Tahitian/etc tattoo, I’m sure you’ll find similar ones.

It’s probably Polynesian or Tehitian or similar. I did see it once elsewhere but I’ve been Goggling like mad and haven’t found it again.
