Hi,
Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I wasn’t sure where else to post it. ๐
I have been a huge fan of H. R Giger since I discovered his art listening to Jello Biafra’s spoken word stuff about the trial the Dead Kennedy’s went through over the painting included with Frankenchrist. I got a book of his works and found this picture that I absolutely love called Death in A Mouse Trap that i want to get either on my arm or calf.
I was wondering though if there is too much detail to it? I have showed a few people and they all seem to think it may be so.
I am mostly looking at getting the torso head and flames, not the whole piece.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
(PS: It looks a bit pixelated because i resized it in paint.)
Hi
It really depends on how much time and money you are willing to put into it.
The detail is not too much for a pro and I am sure a decent artist would love to get their teeth into a piece like that.
The actual detail is no more difficult to replicate than a portrait of say a person or a pet in lifelike perspective. (Again though you need a good artist to be able to do it).
My advice is go speak with a reputable artist and see if they can draw it up for you.
That said you can expect to hand over some serious money as to get that fine detail will prob take quite a few hours.
Take Care
Matthew
Additionally, unless you’ve got huge forearms, I’d go with the calf option as it’d give your artist more canvas to work with, an will “turn” with the body part less.
Love. Peace. Metalica.
