    Hey guys, got my tattoo about a year ago and to be honest i rushed into it even after spending 2 years deciding, i like my tattoo but its just not looking like i wanted it

    So i’m thinking of either extending it up over my shoulder bone and down my chest or trying to get a cover up to make it longer and wider

    Let me know what you think

    As a tattoo it looks fine.

    By not looking as you wanted do you mean the design?, colouring/shading? or the linework?

    Adding to that sort of tribal is no problem and you can go crazy on complexity if extending over the shouler and collarbone.

    A cover-up will be extremely difficult and would likely need several expensive and painful laser sessions to lighten it. I am against this also as you would be knacking a fine tattoo.

    My advice is take your time and plan with an artist how to extend the orig linework so that it is more in line with what you want.

    to cover you need a good artist who is good at doing cover ups.
    if you still like tribal i would add to it

    cheers guys, dont get me wrong i love tribal and dont mind the tattoo, its just not what i wanted, think its because i feel its just bang centre i’d love to extend it but i’m finding it hard to imagine this and lack inspiration

    to cover it would be impossible unless you had laser treatment, my suggestion would be like matthew said and redefine it and extend it.
    i have a client wanting to book in an 8hr sitting for tribal work

    I’m not real big on tribal unless it is big bold bad ass tribal. Looks like you have a good start, I like the idea of extending it.

    Kinda off topic, but some of my favorite tribal is Kerry King’s.(guitarist for Slayer for you non-metalheads.)

    Im a girl and not a fan of tribal so I automatically see flowers extending off of it lol. But have you thought about some kind of symbols (whatever you’re into obv)— could add some more dynamics into it and then if you made the choice to extend the design from there if you wanted.
