I thought id pick your brains since your the one that posts the most here ๐
I talked with my artist about doing a cover up on my arm, will get a pic laters .
but be warned its a shitty snoopy arm band i had done before i was 18 .
Anyways i wanted a Buddha to cover it up but its not going to work at all , the placement of buddha is not doing to work at all as a cover up tattoo *sighs*
i really wanted a buddha
so i have asked my artist what will be the best thing to cover up my pap tattoo with and he has said a chinese dragon , smoke, flowers would work the best and make a nice classic 3 quarter sleeve .
im growing on the idea because i do love to see them but im worried its a bit masculine and wanted to know if you have ever come across any that are a tad more girly ๐
also if you have any ideas how i can incorporate my buddhism in to it , i was thinking maybe he can be holding some prayer beads in his claws etc ………
also what colours ?? greens my fav but i have alot of green in my wings so im thinking
blue and red/pink
bloody hell

Hi
Actually you got me at the right time- my research is complete! ๐
So I am going to step down from posting so much an let others have a chance. :p
Yes I have seen various feminine style dragons – they are quite easy to do actually.
Most westerners see the dragon as a symbol of strength and power and so masculise the drawing with talons facing outwards, snarling mouths, and burning eyes etc.
To feminise the dragon you would require the body to be more slender and sinuous, the scales are usually more lighter shaded and the talons are not flaring. The snout tends to be a little more tapered (no snarling) and the eyes are more curved as opposed to ocular.
The colouring is very important; soft pinks, yellows, blues, and greens always work well on the scales or you could even go for a more rainbow effect across the scales.
I have some pictures of traditional dragon drawings that are actually much ‘softer’ and smokier than modern interpretations.
You could also have the dragon clutching beads, fan, ball and gong, or the wheel of life to symbolise buddhism. That said you could have an image of budda rising up from the smoke and clouds looking down on the dragon.
I will PM you the pics latr on as I am still at work.
Take Care
Matthew
I knew would would come up with something ๐
