So I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo for awhile, and after throwing around a lot of ideas, I decided to get a mango to honor St. Kitts, the island where my parents got married and where I was born. Our home had a huge mango tree in the backyard and mangos have always reminded me of the island. I thought of getting a mango tree, but I felt it would be hard to get a tree that was recognizable as a mango tree unless it was very large, and I’m not ready for a huge tattoo just yet. But I felt a mango alone would be kind of boring, so I added some leaves to make the design nicer. Here is my drawing of my idea (the actual colors are a bit darker, they got kinda washed out during scanning):

I also photoshopped it onto my back to get a feel for placement and an idea of what it would look like:

So what do you guys think? Any feedback or suggestions for improvement would be appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi

The design looks very nice couple of small things to be aware of though.

Orange can look brown against darker pigment skin so may not be as vibrant as you would like – you may have to consider that when doing the design.

My other thought is you could have one side of the mango as a full skinned and the other half facing outwards cut in half.

You would need a decent artist buit i think it would look very nice.

Post up pics if you get it done.

i’m pale as a ghost, if my skin looks dark in that picture its because of the lighting. besides, my friend with similar skin tone just got a tattoo of an orange rose and i think it looks great. so im not really worried about the oranges. i know its going to look a lot different than it does in the photoshopped picutre

as for the cut in half idea, that’s interesting, although i can’t really picture what you are describing.

i already have an artist in mind, i’ve looked at her work online and i think she could do a great job with this
