    Hi..

I just got my 3rd tattoo today.. Can I use normal moisturizer on it sometimes ?

I am thinking about the moisturizer: CeraVe moisturizing Lotion..

    Here are the ingredienses:

    Hi

Wait until it has scabbed or peeled before applying that stuff – it has a high alcohol content that will dry out the skin and could pull ink.

Sounds crazy I know as it is a moisturiser but I am talking about the top layer not what is absorbed.

Try using it after 5-7 days should be fine.

    Take Care

My husband is heavily tattooed. For aftercare of his tattoos he uses Lubriderm hand cream, the unscented kind. He doesn’t use Tattoo Goo or Polysporn or anything else, just Lubriderm. He has never had a problem with any of his tattoos. He’s been using it for several years now.

did your artist give you any aftercare instructions ?…… i now give each client an aftercare information sheet plus a free 40g tube of savlon.

dont use moisturiser until about the 4th day, wait until it is scabbed

Any nappy rash cream is usually the best thing to use for tattoos – I never really use normal moisteriser on any of mine and always give them a good helping of sunscreen before going out. I didn’t do it with my first one and the discolouration is really noticable compared to the rest that I have looked after
