Hi i’m thinking of getting a tattoo done. on my inner arm, however as i work in construction i’m concerned about the best way to keep it clean until it heals, is there anything i can use such as cling film or a gauze that would help, also what have people found to be the best creams to keep it clean, any help would be appreciated thanks.

Don’t clingfilm or tight bandage it after the intial bleeding has ended it creates a swarm of bacteria – if you have to keep it covered use a loose nonstick gauze pad but be prepared to air it plenty and change the dressings at least x2 a day.
Too tight can tear the tattoo and/or get it infected.
If you can get away with a loose sleeve shirt that would be better and wash it down regulary with water and pat dry.
A light film of antiseptic cream for the first few days would work – use this until scabs/seals (not too much as can lift ink if you swamp it) then swap to a non-scented moisturiser.
