    Hello everyone,

I am thinking of purchasing this design from shegsy.com

    http://www.shegsy.com/animals.html

    (It’s the tortoise titled ‘release’)

However as a petite girl I really need this to be as feminine as possible so thinking about changing it slightly, I want the tattoo on my upper back and am afraid the bold blackness of it will make it a bit garish? I want it to be pretty and feminine, however I really love this particular design

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could alter it to ensure it will be delicate enough for my back (it will be revealed quite often).

Or should I get it somewhere else eg. my hip and find something more girly for my back?

Hey there, judging by your explanation I would suggest that your selection is off the mark. The selection process is the most important part of your tat2 you need to be totally satisfied so take the time to research what you are looking for so that you wont regret it later. You sound very feminine utilise that fact good luck Hoani

    Hi

That is a nice piece of flash.

My advice is that any design from flash is just the first stage in getting a custom tattoo.

This can be achieved by a slight softening of the circle so that it is not as rigid or can use a method known as drop shading.

This is where the lines gradually go from just outline to solid black towards the end.
Alternately you can go for a softer shading and will make it look more feminine.

A good use of shading and highlights will emphasise the femininity of it.

That or bang some lipstick on the mouth. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ah but I really like it, I just don’t want it quite so solid & bold, I have been researching for months, just stumbled across this & loved it. I know it’s not very original but that’s why I want to alter it. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not a very creative person!

I’ll take the design to a tattooist then & ask for softer lines & more feminine shading! ๐Ÿ™‚ And to soften the circle a bit. Sounds good. Thank you!
