    Hey guys!
This looks like a great community with some specialists that might help me out.
So here’s the thing, I’m planning to get a Libra symbol[tribal style] on my chest.
Exactly for how long would it be forbidden for me to workout(simple push ups)?
And of course, will I have any problems or emm.. need to refill it?
I’ve read that arm tattoos need to be refilled, recolored or however you call it once a year.
Do I have to do the same on my chest?

Ah by the way, here’s the tattoo:
    raryjt.th.jpg
It will be about 4×3 cm, nothing too big.

    Thanks a lot.:D
    Danny.

    Hi DMD

Okay as far as excercise if your getting it on your chest try to stay away from working out your chest for about 4 weeks(This really depends on how long it takes you to fully heal) Some otheres might be able to clarify better for you. As for touch-ups i don’t personally have a chest piece, but my best friend does and he has had it for 2 years now and it still looks perfect. AS long as you take care of your tattoo you shouldn’t need one for a long while, say 10 years or so, probably more. And that goes for most areas on the body with exceptions to the: hands, palms, feet, elbows and knees.

    Cheers

    Ah thanks a lot.
Darn, Ive got my tattoo on the right upper arm.. you know. where everyone gets them.
And I’ve started working out about a week? I just got bored… Hehe
Anyway This one healed pretty fast and I’m going to do some corrections this Sunday.
Darn, I’m far from being some muscle freak and stuff, I’m pretty thin but working out is fun. :X

    Thanks a whole lot MMilani!!!

    Hi

Muscle exercise that stretches or twists the tattooed area should be left along for at least 7 days so not to tear the skin.

It is advisable to avoid any strenuous exercise on the area for 4 weeks and no swimming pools or saunas steam rooms until it has peeled.

Post up the tattoo – looking forward to seeing it.

    Take Care

Hey guys, are chest tattoos cost more than any others because of the place?
I mean my tattoo artist said it will cost X money only because its on my chest.
And she said the price is higher because it’s on a “stretched” place or something like that and she has to do a double job.
The starching thingy actually got me worried!
Is it safe to get that tattoo at all?
What is it about stretching, can it be damaged during sport activities?

    BTW:
Posting my first tattoo and my pierce on the album.D:

Wow, rip off my shop is 120 an hour no matter what and that actually goes for all shops in my surrounding area. This artist sounds like a bit of a complainer. What is she looking at charging you? Besides tens of thousands of people ahve chest tattoos that all look great, just remember to take care of it during the healing process. Your artist might be on drugs…..just kidding. As for sports the day you get it you can play depending on the sport: ping pong etc. Any sports like football hockey bmx skateboarding stuff of that nature stay away from til all is healed.

There is no need to get worried all will be fine.

USD 120 for sounds a lot!
My first tattoo took about 2 hours and it was like 100$?
this one(4×3 cm) would cost me about USD 50-55.

if your having a 2 hour sitting and only 100 bucks, doesn’t sound like to good of a shop if you ask me. The shop i go to is amazing and there prices deserve to be that high. Well if they are a great shop then those are amazing prices. hmmm…. and by the looks of your tattoo in your profile, they aren’t. Some tough criticism but everybody needs it sometimes.

I myself have tattoos myself that aren’t done perticularly well.

Looks pretty good to me. 🙂
Anyway I’m not from USA or something… prices are different here in Israel.

    Anyway, back to the topic.
What was that thing about stretching area for a chest tattoo?
    Is it safe?

What she is probably talking about is that you stretch your chest alot during one full day, any time you move your shoulders or tilting your head beck you are putting strain on your chest which you don’t want on a new tatto.

It’s really nothing to worry about as much as you are. You’ll be fine like you said the piece your getting is fairly small and won’t be affected as much as a rather large piece.

    Might be, might be. Hehe
My only concern is refilling/recoloring of the tattoo.
Do you have any friends who got their chest tattooed?
Did they have to refill ti after like … a year?

    Thanks, Danny. =]

    Hi Danny

You are starting to worry far too much about the tattoo.

What the artist is saying is that the chest has a large muscle group which means extra care is needed so that the tattoo looks good when you are flexing the muscles.

As long as you don’t go crazy in the gym or wear ultra type shirts you will not rip or tear the tattoo.
Most tattoos need a touch up every 10 or so years – sooner if you are exposing them to a lot of sunlight.

Sunbeds are a serious no if you have tattoos.
Just relax and enjoy the ink.
