i’ve recently got the outline done for my 12th tattoo, i’ve luckily never had a problem with itching or anything like that,

this one (on my right leg) is so itchy and i’ve got a rash forming, i think it’s possibly just a rash from it getting shaved, i’ve attached pics so you can have a look and hopefully put my mind at ease..

i’ve used Bepanthen for most of my tattoos and found that the best and thought maybe the rash was because of that so i’ve switched the savlon like i did for my other tattoos to see if that calms it down…

here is a pic of it done just after it had been done aswell

NIce outline , will be a nice tattoo when finished !

did you give into the itch ? i am working on a half sleeve at the moment and i have a bad case of the itch !
Its normal , some people get it worst than others .
if you give into it and have a scratch or a good rub thats when you can get a rash easily .
other than that you could be getting an reaction to something .
could be from shaving especially if you don’t normally shave

thanks, i love the tattoo i cant wait to get it finished off – which is probably why this is so annoying.

i think the problem was that i was in london on saturday and walking around alot and trousers were rubbing against it, it’s been itchy as hell since
i’ll just hope it goes away soon

Sounds like thats the problem then, walking around lot could have made you sweat a bit too even if you didnt feel like you had. will prob settle down within 3 days ( if you dont scratch it )

    another thing when i’m here…

how long would it usually take for the tattoo to heal before i can get the second session? i have an appt for 1st sept, but martin says once it’s healed i can pop in and get it started before my session..

    Hi

That looks like a heat rash – get some ice in a cloth and gently lay it across the area and keep it on for around 15 mins.

Scratching at the tattoo can cause infection a a lot of bacteria on fingernails so best to use savlon for at least first few days.

Great tattoo outline. Will make a storming tattoo!

2 weeks is usually the best time to get more week as the tattoo will have healed below the surface in that time.

thanks alot. it seems to have calmed down this morning thankfully. i’ll not touch the tattoo until it’s properly healed (other than putting cream on of course) – was told to slap it when it’s itchy… that just makes it worse :S

thats been a week it’s been done now, i think i’ll wait until next thursday or friday and go get more work done to it ๐Ÿ˜€

thanks alot for your help again!

slapping it never works for me either . If the itch gets really bad i tend to give it a little wash and add some new cream on
