I want to get another tattoo, and liked this, I think of it was old Canadian native art, which would show off my Canadian heritage but I want to know what the “Native meaning” is
looking to get it large on my back
if by canadian you mean Native american tribes that are located up in western canada and alaska then yea…
the actual meaning behind it I dont know.. it isnt a thunder bird, but its close, def isnt a raven..
it is cool though.
well yeah something like that 😛
I know in British Columbia west coast of Canada, up in the mountains this is EVERYWHERE and it’s all old Canadian/American Tribes, I’m not native myself, but it does symbolize the Canadian heritage, I think so anyway
Hi
That is a very powerful thunderbird symbol however it seems to be missing the usual snakes that were held to make lightening.
This is nothing major as there are many variations of the thunderbird’s description.
I think this could be a picture of singular thunderbird as believed by Nuu-chah-nulth tribe but there are other beliefs where it was thought there were several.
Hope it helps.
Take Care
Matthew
