I’ve been having a friend design my tattoo for me and he’s been doing great work on it. My question though is if I should have him make a stencil of it himself, or bring the drawing in to show a tattoo artist for them to do it.
My friend isn’t a tattoo artist so he has no supplies nor has he done one before. I’m sure it wouldn’t been too much of a task other than time and I know it’s easier on the tattoo artist if I were to bring in a stencil for them to work on.
Take it to a tattooist. He will make his own stencil. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi
Def needs to goto an artist otherwise the stencil can get messed up or blurred.
What are you getting done?

also your friend might be a flip hot artist but the design might need changing to make it work better as a tattoo
@ Sherav: I’m having him sketch out a custom biomechanical/steampunk style for the upper back. It’s mostly symbolic art towards myself and events in my life but the style also appeals to my love for intricate structures.
@ Butterfly: Yeah I’ve thought about that as well. I figured that would be something to talk with the tattoo artist about. I’m sure there are only so many fine details they can put in without the tattoo looking like an unrecognizable blob.
Thanks for the help.
