I haven’t been on here in forever! I thought I’d update you all on the story of my first tattoo. I was on the waiting list for an in-demand artist for a year, and he finally called me up last week to get it started. So I went in today for a 3 hour session. He did the outline and the first round of shading. He got a lot done in just 3 hours. That’s cuz I took it on the ribs like a champ 😉
Like I said, I’m a total badass… what can I say?
Next session, he’s gonna add some more color. Blues and purples, a lot more black. The wing on top is still just a quick outline (we ran out of time), so he’ll clean that up too.
Oh, btw, it’s a raven!
wow..that looks incredibly painful, but worth it! May I ask who the artist is?
The artist is Don McDonald. He works out of Bodyworks Tattoo in Pittsburgh.
Yes, you are a bad ass. That is tough as hell. He did a shit load in 3 hours. Your ink looks amazing. Can’t wait to see the end product. I would say hang in there, but your probably tougher than me by far.

Looking good!!! Make sure you post pics when the colours are in 😀
Love

thanks guys! Actually, the pain wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be… I wasn’t sure what to expect.
And don’t get me wrong, it did hurt… but it was bearable. Don talked to me pretty much the whole time, so my mind didn’t have time to dwell on the pain.
I’m going back in december to finish her up. Unless I can get in sooner on a cancellation.
Looks great so far. Not sure about pain on the ribs, heard it was just awful. I just had some work done on my leg and going over the shin bone hurt like hell. Don’t want to do that again.
Thanks for all the replies, guys! It was definately worse going over the bone than on the fleshy part of my side. But to me, it’s not worth sacrificing the placement because of the fear of pain.
Right now, it’s itchy as hell though. That’s by far worse than the needle. Ugh, someone get me some benadryl!
(lol, did you notice my big goofy dog in the background of the first pic?)
