Ok finally had my first tattoo made. It was both a long winded reflexion and a surprise: I kindof thought my friend and the artist he invited had forgotten about me when last thursday I got a laconic text message “still good for the Delacroix on saturday?”.
So It’s the Liberty guiding the people, very famous french painting by Eugène Delacroix. Took 6h of work and I was told it was a tough entry into the tattoo world. One seasonned tattoo artist passed by when I was on the bench and he was in aww, very cool. He even said to my GF that I had balls to take it in one pass. It was painless and stressless most of the time except for one hour when I felt really sick.
Anyway, iphone-grade photo wich does not make it justice. The details are just amazing:
Looks cool! Congrats!
I like the way that looks, good detail.
Hard to tell much about the actual quality w/ the iPhone pic, but looks good.
Adding a couple of pics. I took these for a good friend who’s also an artist, although she hates the concept of tattooing and most tattoos she’s came accross. She liked this one, however (she may have said that out of niceness but she’s not really that kind of person).
The artist told me he had another 3 hours of work to finish this one (!) which would bring it to 9h just for the arm. He said I was forbidden to even think of another tattoo until he got to finish this one! He’s really cool and likes his work.

My favorite part is her breast. The shading and details are terrific.
Ok just updating the thread. We finished the work last week, and it took another 4h to add all the details, the sky, and add light and volumes with white ink.
Kinda like the results:

I advise you compare it to the painting (here courtesy of wikipedia) it’s much more impressive.
Nice, Delacroix was a great artist and his work is phenomenal, also your ink turned out nice
Looks great, congrats!!
Cheers,
Marcus
