I KNOW THIS IS A STUPID QUESTION FOR SOME PEOPLE, please do not mention it.

But I’ve been thinking about getting a tat for a pretty long while and I was suggested my upper back, then I said “My upper back ? I couldn’t even see it myself unless I had 2 mirrors !”

So,
– Do you have tattoos you cannot see yourself ?
– Why did you get tattooed there if you can’t even see it ?
– Would you have liked to get inked somewhere else for that tatt ?

I need someone to change my mind about back tattoos being pointless since you can’t see it yourself because my best bet on my tat ideas would be the upper back but I can’t get the idea of NOT seeing my tattoo off my head.

If you don’t like the idea, then don’t do it. It’s really that simple. The last thing you want is permanently mark yourself with something that you will likely regret later. Anything else I could say is irrelevant.

Just to raise the tone a little….
My first tattoo was on my back and I so regret it. I waited a long time to be tattooed by a great artist and I realised a week later that the only person that would never see it properly was me.
If you want to look badass as you walk away back pieces are the ticket if you need reminding every now and then how cool you are get a piece you can see.

Thanks for me more serious answer Corn, that’s exactly what I was talking about I just don’t really like the idea of not seeing my tat unless I flip my head around and check in a mirror.

D3FiANC3, you might be right.

And Amok, I’m a straight man so nobody’s gonna fuck me from behind but still thanks for the funny post 🙂

The thing is, my tat will be relatively big and I’m gonna work out some muscles in the future, my favorite spot was my shoulder but it will eventually grow bigger and the whole thing will distort I suppose.

Sure, ideally you’d like to be able to see all of your tattoos but if that’s the case you’re eliminating a whole lot of prime real estate in the back. I have a beautiful tattoo on my back that I wish myself and others could see easier but that’s where it fit best. Depending on what you get and the size, the back may be the best spot for it due to proper fit.

My back piece starts from below my neck and ends above the back of my knees. It wouldn’t have fit anywhere else on my body.

Hi

I got my full back done mainly because it was the only space on my body where i could fit the whole idea in one place and so that it flows how i wanted it.

I do have other tattoos that i can see but if I ever want to look at my tattoo then I have a backpiece portrait which is hung on my wall and I can admire everyday.

Back tattoos are simply personal choice and as said if any doubts don’t get it done.

I see my back piece in the mirror every morning. Others get the privilege to see it when I’m shirtless, normally in the pool etc. I have half sleeves (upper) and I see more of my back than my shoulders, or at least notice it more.

The best reason for back tattoo is that it’s massive real estate. You can get a talented artist to design you some massive piece of artistic masterpiece
