I really love space and was wondering if you think nebulae would or could have the same effect as these pictures but as a colour tattoo background of my full sleeve that Dmitriy Samohen is doing for me in July.
Is it possible to get the same vibrancy as the pictures or doing this sort of thing wouldn’t look very good as a tattoo?
I think Dmitriy can pull it off. Here are two space-themed tattoos by James Kern.
that sleeve has popped up a few times and its so awesome, but i would be hesitant to take something like this simply because the sheer object is just such a non entity i think it would really need to be in perfect context with its background and colour work in order for it to work or you risk it looking like a messed up rainbow lol
i would be really interested to see what you come up with though so keep us updated! 😀 x
james kern is the man for this type of work. he travels to the uk a lot. here is his most recent one. but i would definitely have dmitry do it if i had the chance.
Dmitriy can handle it, might even give Mr. Kern’s piece a run for its money! I think it would challenge him and he would exceed your expectations
Thanks for the replies folks.
I will show him the pictures see what he thinks. Might be a shame to go to him and not get a realistic piece done?
I am not sure even in the ones you linked that tattoos are able to get the vibrancy of the black and colours.
Well tattoos do fade and the colors will never look as bright once the skin heals over the ink, but if you’re fair skinned and the artist is using quality ink, the colors will still pop.
i love the one with the ship too… oh god its like tattoo porn!
