The tattoo stands well on it’s own. I try to persuade my clients not to add dates to memorial tattoos because of the negative aspect of the death date. I think memorial tattoos should reflect the life the person lived, not how and when they died. That would be like getting a smashed up car tattoo to memorialize a person that died in a car wreck or a syringe to remember how your friend died of an overdose.
Celebrate the life, not the death.
