I like the ship it looks well done.
All looks very good, but with the top one the lack of symmetry is irritating me, and the minor mistakes in where the light falls… 😛 But that’s just me being all kind of weird! The leafs look all wrong. But it’s probably just because I can’t see the entire tattoo! Looks like very solid work though 🙂

+1. all are solid but the ship is my fav. credit the artist please.
Yep very nice work 🙂
They look well done. And I like you and your brother having the matching traditional tattoos.

I believe Joe Reno from Shogun Tattoo in Pasadena, California did the ship one. He also did the eagle. As for the others they were done by Jason Bradshaw out of Golden Eagle Tattoo in Santa Barbra (occasional guest spots) but mainly resides at Hellcat Tattoo in Florida!

Like you I don’t like the top one at all. It just looks off and the line work is as wonky as hell.

Did I miss sarcasm?
For me it’s two things; The linework is uneven. Not everywhere, but it is in quite a few places.
It’s the composition of the design.. It looks like it was drawn by someone who doesn’t get design. Just “I’ll place a leaf here, and one there!” with no regard for how it all works together. Artists usually have a very good eye for just this, but whoever did this design, doesn’t. Or they were having a terrible day.
The top leaf is what made me notice, the placement should have been more centered.

As said above the line work is not smooth lines at all they are jagged. The shading in the watch face all around the out side muddies it up, With traditional tattoos being so basic they have to be super solid lines and be squeaky clean to be a good tattoo in my book like that clipper ship those lines are tight as hell on it very solid work.
