I got a bear with a snake in its mouth tattoo’d about 5 days ago on my arm. It recently started pealing, but now for some reason the nose on the bear (which was brown with some highlights I believe) is kind of a pinkish scab color. I’ve been washing it with normal soap with no specific scent, and putting on Tattoo Goo daily. Is this normal? Will it go back to its original color?
Hard to tell without seeing a picture.
But most likely? Yes, yes it will. It’s probably pink because your skin is mad that it was stabbed with a needle a shitload of times.
Wouldn’t recommend tattoo goo though, I got a bad reaction to it once. You could probably use something lighter now 🙂
Welcome to the forum!
poxphobia is correct.
I would use a fragrance free moisturizer sparingly once a day.
Keep us posted and pictures would be nice.
Welcome don’t use tattoo goo its crap.
Would using Aquaphor until its healed be a good option and keep the color locked in?
And Poxphobia, does that mean the color should eventually return over the pink?
Patience aaxe, patience. It will be a while before it is totally healed and you can see how it is going to look.
If any of the colour does “fall out”, just go back to the artist who did it. It is not uncommon for a tattoo to need a touch-up and the touch-up appointment should be free.
We would all love to see pics, either fresh or healed!
Post pictures and watch for signs of infection. What makes me uncomfortable is that it went from a dark color to a light one, but my tattoo experience is limited. My experience with wounds is not. My favorite maintenance lotions for healing skins and upkeep are unscented baby lotions for sensitive skin, but if it’s damp to the touch, it doesn’t need lotion, just breathable clean clothes and sheets, and a daily shower with feminine wash (unscented) over the area with your hand washing it. Don’t rub it dry; blot.

Feminine wash? Please elaborate.
Best kind of soap to use on fresh tattoos!

It’s sold in the same area vaginal deodorant, pregnancy tests, maxi pads, tampons, and everything else you’re scared of is sold. It will say “Feminine Wash” on the bottle. Looks like a body wash bottle. There’s usually pastel coloring on it.
I may give this a shot!

WHAT? Is that a thing? Even I’m a bit scared now.
It sounds like a wonderful thing. I’ve met a few that could have done with a bit of deodorant
That being said, it better be tasteless and healthy for consumption…
