which is with my $2500 canon rig and which is with my $600 Sony pocket camera ?
look at color saturation,contrast,sharpness,etc,etc
#1
.
#2
.
#3
The compositions and lighting scenarios are so vastly different and your focus depth so limited in all of them that it’s impossible to tell which comes from which camera. Also, the cameras’ post-processing settings could have some drastic changes to the outcome.
That being said, considering that pocket cameras usually have saturation and sharpness boosts enabled as a default, I’d guess the top two are your RX-100 and the third one your 50D
From all three photos I deduce that you are in Hawaii, and that beer (preferably cold) is available. (I’m satisfied that you are having a reasonably good time)
Kudos!

Indeed? That’s pretty cool. Very good colors and sharpness in the 50D (as is to expected)
I bought a Sony RX100 as well, just a couple weeks ago. It’s a great camera, but I haven’t had much time to play around with it so I’ve just been using the auto setting mostly.

ya,pretty cool little camera,I’ve only had mine since about the 10th of sept,I got tired of hauling around my Canon kit as we travel a lot,and this sony is so easy & light & a pleasure to travel with,& a shitload of cool features. The “superior” & “Intelligent” modes take killer pictures without even thinking about it,& I like the instant video button.Though I am an advanced photographer as far as the Manual,Program,Aperture & shutter priority modes are fun to mess with, the auto modes make travel very simple. My canon kit still has it’s place, but I just took this Sony for 10 days to Kauai, and shot my usual couple hundred pics,I have taken my canon kit on a dozen or so trips to Maui & Kauai, this sony takes nearly as good pictures, funny too,my Canon 50D is 15mp and this sony packs a punch at 20 !

Ah well that’s exactly why I bought it, I know a lot of pros and seasoned photographers use the Sony as their compact. I was going to buy a full on DSLR but realised I wouldn’t use it as much because they’re so bulky. I’m a novice though, but I’ll learn as I go. Quite happy with the unit, I’ve been shooting in RAW form and making adjustments using Lightroom. Again it’s all new to me but I’m learning.

I was never blessed with any gifts in other art forms or music abilities, but I really love photography,it’s my creative release,I also create with my cooking, but photography is my first love. I have a great time with it. I like documenting my life in photos. so many at these tattoo forums are so talented in art & tattooing, photography is my “art”.

Wish I could say the same, I have no artistic ability at all, can’t even draw a stick man properly…

That looks good, they really do need a proper grip like that. At the moment I’m using a cheap ebay case, I don’t think it would fit the camera anymore with that grip on it though. Hmmmm
