We just have the same thread on another forum and found it quite interesting, so I would like to see yours too 🙂
Post pics of your freshly done tattoos and then healed later down the line 🙂
I took all these today!
I know some are not that old but thought I would post them.
B/G tattoos are the only ones that looks good when healed. Color fades so hard… *cries a bit*
That tofi piece healed a lot better than I thought
They look great.
I’m sold on color though. As far as color tattoos aging? If I live to be 100 years old, my oldest tattoo will be 44 years old.
I plan on using whatever aftercare I can to keep them bright.
it’s pretty cool how you have done a good job on photo documenting your pieces Peter.
I dug up one for now,
Jan 2012 the day it was done /
May 2013 /

Still looks great:-)
So I actually just got some touch up work done to my left arm sleeve and my Ankh and then added the background to my skull and butterflies sleeve so those I really can’t post. I’ve got a Fresh Vs. Old of my Memorial tattoo. I’ll post the before/after of my ankh before yesterday!
Memorial piece done February 10th, 2012
Then I just took these a few minutes ago. First one is with the flash on.
Then without the flash.
My Ankh right after it was redone on October 28th, 2011
Then this one was taken on April 29th, 2013. Like I said, I got it touched up yesterday so I’ll post pictures again maybe later down the road of this one.

Only difference I really see is on the first one the blue has gone a much lighter blue but not faded like its another colour, looks great 🙂
Yea my artist and I agreed yesterday that my memorial piece really didn’t need to much work hence why we didn’t touch it up yesterday. The original pic is kind of dark, ill see about finding the one off his portfolio maybe. As you can see on my Ankh though, while it was healing a scab had formed right by the Ankh itself, just under the second leaf on the right side, and it was either pulled off by my pants or whatever but I lost color there. We fixed that part yesterday as well as some other areas of the background. The legs still hurt like hell to get tattooed, it was not pleasant but thankfully didn’t last long!
Here is the picture of my memorial piece he has on his portfolio. Still not much change from then til now.

Yep, sunscreen is a major part in keeping my tattoos bright as well.

Here’s my Gil Elvgren pinup done by Shane O’Neill. The first pic is half fresh/half healed and the second is the tattoo about 3 years later. I’m due to update my other tattoos with healed pictures too. Most artists also like being sent pics of the healed work.
Love this piece and still looks awesome!
