    Hi everyone
please could you help me with some advice? Im not here to be insulted so unless you think your advice is worth posting and constructive, dont bother posting. Also before I start I have the highest respect for all you artists out there and do not wish to insult you, this is me asking for help as I am at a dead end.
I desperately want to get in to tattooing, ever since I had my first ink and watched in amazment as Doc worked his magic Ive just wanted to be able to do the same. The trouble is I didnt act quick enough on my desire, got a mortgage, got a wife, got kids and although I dont regret my wife and kids I did miss the boat. So here I am at 37 still with my burning ambition to be like Doc! I know its not as glamorous as it seems, I know tattooing is hard work sometimes and I know I would have to work very hard at it.
At 37 nobody seems in the slightest bit interested in a oap apprentice and although some of the best artists have self taught, its only to a certain degree, theyve all had help from someone and its only right. Tattooing is a skill and skills in the main part need to be learned. So with that said and my predicament, I have seen on line a dvd with on line support and thought maybe this may be a chance for me? My other thought after that is if I get to a standard that is acceptable and build a portfolio would any shop give me a go based on that?
Thats basically my problem people and any constructive comments will be noted and taken heed of, thankyou in advance, oh and happy new year!

How much ink do you have? Do you have any artistic ability?

You need a mentor in the industry.

    Hi Sam
Ive got a fair few only on my arms at the moment, getting my knuckles done soon. My art is not bad, good on objects, need more work on faces but I practise when I can.

This is a tough one. My gut says to tell you to just get over it.
But hey, if you got the skills i say reach for the stars.
Post up some of your drawings and paintings.
