For my last quarter in Methods and Concepts, I had to do two photo shoots, both telling a story.

Parameters: For my first shoot, I had to shoot a series of pictures telling the aftermath of a story, and through that aftermath, illuminate the incident that preceded it.

Can you figure out what the incident was? Most likely–90% of my class got it right with the first picture.

Parameters: For my second shoot, I had to shoot a series of pictures telling a story with theatrical emotions and many actors.

My actors are Cabbage Patch Kid Dolls, the original run from the 80’s, and their emotions at a funeral for one of their own.

Okay, okay, before you ask, I have nine Cabbage Patch Kid dolls. They were bought for another Methods and Concepts project in which I had planned to build an army of zombified Cabbage Patch Kid dolls. Problem was, the damn things didn’t arrive until several days after the project was due, necessitating me to buy one from the local Salvation Army and zombify it instead. I love that thing–this is the third project I’ve used it in if you include the one for which I made it in the first place.

Having spent $50 on these fuckers, I was going to do SOMETHING with them, and this was it since my wife, upon seeing them, forbade me altering them in any fashion.

As for the actual grave, I’ve been exaggerating how deep I dug it, but the fucking thing really was up to my knee before I stopped, took a step back, and said “…what the fuck KH? Just…what the fuck?”.

Okay, I have to admit, I kinda lied at the beginning of the post. I actually had to do four photo shoots, and the first two were more abstract. Also, they sucked. I mean really, really, really, really, really, really sucked. So, when I tell the story in the future, I’m a gonna omit that fact, but, in the mean time, I’m going to present the only picture my instructor said was good out of that set…though I think, knowing all ya’all here, that it’s going to over shadow the good shoots.

On another note, as today was my last day of art school, I made my last major update to my Deviant Art for the school year. I added some new works, including what I posted here today, as well as some works I did much earlier in the year that I never got around to posting before. Over the summer I plan to keep working, but I doubt that I’ll have another big info dump like this again until the next school year starts in September.

    Love. Peace. Metallica. :kh:

    Hey KH

You gave my wife some seriously sick ideas over my life insurance…
It worked well as a concept and I know you will pass no probs.

Just to let you know I am gonna keep that 1 min sculpture as a desk saver 😉
