So I am taking off to Chicago in 25 days for a little week long vacation! I haven’t been to the US ever. I have a friend there who works for a very big towing company, O’hare Towing. Some of you may have saw it on TV, they have their own reality show, Wrecked on Speed. Anyways, he has a couple places he is taking me, but I was wondering if any of you guys have ever been, and recommend anywhere to go?
never ever been but it sounds fun !! hope you have a great time ๐
Thanks!! I am quite excited. I will defiantly post tons of pictures ๐
Hi
I have been for a week – by places to go what are your interests?
We hit a lot of jazz bars and some museums and tattoo studios.
To be fair it is not like the night life like say in Miami but some interesting spots depends what youa re into.

Just saw this so I’m sorry about the late response. The area around Clark and Belmont is pretty decent, if you’re into punk/goth/alternative stuff. There is the Chicago Tattoo Expo 2009 at Navy Pier the weekend of October 16th, 17th, and 18th I believe. It’s huge and a great time with a lot of fantastic artists. I’ll be getting some work done by a buddy who will be at the show doing some inkin’ and I’ll probably get some piercings, too ๐

Hey – I know this is way past the point of being relevant but Chicago’s nightlife is quite great and happening, if you’re in the “know.” We have tons of places to go, all types of music genres and even better you get to party until 5 in the morning.
Anyone planning any future Chicago trips, let me know, I can suggest an itinerary that will have you thinking Miami is only great for the weather =) (and to be fair, I go to Miami every year so I know what I’m talking about)

My points were that as a tourist not in the know it was quite a bit of research required to find what was happening in Chicago.
The reason I said Miami was because you could step in and out of bars, clubs, shops etc etc without even searching or even asking where should we go.
I liked Chicago but I still stand by what I said based on just turning up as a complete stranger – Miami was a much more ‘tourist’ aimed city.
