what do you guys call your tattoo equipment?
“tattoo Gun” or Tattoo machine”?
this has been an on going debate for sometime… lets settle this once and for all.
I prefer the term “tattoo gun” but some artist are anal about this term and strictly call it a “tattoo machine”

Call it what you want, but you’re wrong if you call it anything other than a tattoo machine.
Technically you could argue that it is a GUN!

yes, its not actually a weapon.. but it does shoot a repeated projectile at high velocity into a flat service.
guns do not necessarily have to kill anything either.
take a look at the stun GUN.
or the tranquilizer GUN
its purpose is to do the opposite of kill.
now lets look at non traditional GUNS that are not used as weapons at all!
The spray paint gun is not designed to kill or a weapon. but evidently it is still considered a GUN!
now it doesn’t matter who patented the tattoo ‘machine’. the investor could have called it a GUN for all you know. but some close minded person or some one who didn’t want to create controversy reinstated it as ‘machine’.
but i disgress, I am NOT wrong for calling it a “TATTOO GUN”. It is a contraption with a switch that shoots a projectile repeatedly…
It’s a tattoo machine, not a gun. Just like my .357 magnum is a gun and not a machine. People who use the term gun to describe a tattoo machine are typically either home scratchers or ignorant wannabe tattoo enthusiasts who don’t know any better and think they sound cool. I wonder which one the OP is?
