The first “album” Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti.
2-24-1975
Guns n Roses, use your illusion
95 or 96 I guess
The first music I bought was either a piss-poor live GNR album (or cassette, rather) who’s name I’ve forgotten, or a boxed LP collection that Metallica published in the late 80’s / early 90’s. The LP set was one of the most expensive things I’d bought at that time.
I think the next thing was the Born In The U.S.A. CD.. the first CD I ever bought, and coincidentally the first commercial US CD ever printed.
1971 Led Zeppelin IV was the first one I bought with my own money.
I remember I blew my dads speakers when he was not there, while playing “Rock & Roll”. LOL
got this sometime in the late 90’s

Awesome album!
I don’t know if it’s because I lived in New Jersey for a brief time, or what, but I can’t stand Bruce Springsteen!
(I was really into Deep Purple)
Nice tattoo Dan!

The Offspring – Americana (1998)
I have been trying to remember since you started this thread. I know it was a 45. I think that it may have been Amii Stewart “Knock on Wood”. I grew up in a small town with only AM Radio soooo ….
I only had a few LP’s, I remember Tony Basil and Twisted Sister, Journey, Rick Springfield and the J. Geils Band (don’t forget to say NO ANCHOVIES, PLEASE). I’m not sure which one came first.
But I used to sneak into my little brother’s room regularly to play his Joan Jett on his stereo. Over and over …
Saw Joan play a couple years ago. She’s still rockin’ it.
And I bought J. Geils again, on CD. For ‘No Anchovies Please’. It is stupid and makes no sense, but it makes me smile. Duhn duh … Duhn duh …:D

I forgot about the 45’s!
“Witch Doctor” by David Seville and the Chipmunks! Then the Doors, “Riders on the Storm”, “Love Potion No. 9”, and “Keemosabe” by the Electric Indian. (forgive spelling)
Ace of Base’s “The Sign”
I wish I was kidding.

When I was a kid there was a neighbour with downs syndrome who used to sing (yell) this song while strumming a guitar. That’s what I always think of when I hear this song.
We were neighbors?
