first off, i hope its okay to post this here as i dont know where else to post this at. i have type 2 diabetes, but it is under control. my a1c level is 5.6. would it be okay to get a piercing or would it be a bad idea?

second, i was wanting to get anotehr piercing, but not sure what would look good with what i have. so far i only have two lobe piercings which i usually only wear one, and i have an industrial piercing in my right ear, thats it.. i had a rook but it didnt heal right and i ended uptaking it out. i was thinking about getting a regular cartilage piercing on my left ear, but not sure if it would look good or not. any opinions?

    Welcome to the forum!

As far as piercings and diabetes? I would say definitely not, but I’m not a doctor. Since you already have piercings, why ask now?

If you’re a gal, go with nipple bar bells.

Keep us posted. And post picture of what you have, and what you get.

As long as you’re in good control of it, there is no reason not to get pierced with diabetes.
As for ear piercings go… Same same but different. No one really notices unless you have massive lobes or something.

Definitely check with your doctor before preceding.
    Go for some nipple piercings

This is really a question even beyond your GP, and probably more one for your endocrinologist. Your GP will almost certainly say no.

Whether it looks good is a matter of aesthetics. As for the rest:

How long has your diabetes been under control?

Do you have a history of infections?

I wouldn’t recommend a person with diabetes who had an infection in a similar area in the past getting into a similar situation purely from a medical POV, but I’m just a lowly NP. I would ask a doctor whose specialty is diabetes.
