    what do i do to make a band that won’t sound like anything emo/today’ stuff?
    i really want our sound to lean more towards a new wave/pop kind of music

    1. No acoustic guitars. If you do use acoustic try to make it more Beach Boys rather than …whats the name of that band…Dashboard.
    2. If you get a male singer, make sure he sounds like a man.
    3. No screeching in the vocals.
    4. Just follow your inspirations

    combine inspirations and look to other music genres and please no more annoying high pitched singers unless it is progressive rock and you can pull off something like Geddy Lee or Jon Anderson. Ignore every single band out there. Brainstorm ideas with your band. Play because you like to play not because you want $$$. Jam with your band and if something sounds good try to write it down. ect….Never sell out to make a record company happy
