    take bands like iron maiden, metallica, and van halen etc. how come most of these bands in the 70s and 80s had long hair, but now like in these days, they cut it short??

    In the 70s and 80s they were young, rebelious, and “cool”. Now, they are all older and in most cases have other means of income other than their music, and let’s face it, once you get to a certain age, long hair just doesn’t look quite right on a dude.

    A few years ago long hair made one look old. If you saw a bunch of guys with their 70’s hair they looked out of date and uncool. You would say ” a bunch of old dudes”. Now, long hair seems to be making a comeback. Maybe some will re-grow it.

    Have you seen any of the metal bands around today? The metalcore cut their hair short but in my opinion they are not even metal. Look at bands like CoB and Dragonforce.
