I just saw “Sky West and Crooked” which was wonderful (I hadn’t seen it before) and “Tiger Bay” was on before that but I missed that –

John Mills seems to have directed his daughter Hayley in the above and later on the David Lean (who directed the wonderful Dickens adaptations and so on I believe if it is the same one (Lawrence of Arabia,Great Expectations,Oliver Twist,A Man for All Seasons?) film Summertime is on.
Then 9p.m. Julie Walters is in “Educating Rita” (I saw the stage play – Michael Caine doesn’t suit – who would you have play Frank?)
Well a few questions there! – my grandsons are on holiday so I am relaxing!
I suppose my *main* question is : what is your favourite English film – I loved the first one I mentioned as it showed the beautiful countryside as it *was* (even though it was shot in the West Country and not Yorkshire!).

The list is just too long and I’m talking about British films,
not the hybrids that seem to be prevalent at the moment
with English stars English source works but made in Hollywood.
    How about Tess, Shadowlands, Trainspotting…
