listening to music at home.? Whatever type of music you like, have you bought or else considered buying a DAB radio? If so, do you consider the extra cost you paid was worth it as compared with an FM-AM radio? Is sensitivity and sound clarity really any better?

There are stations on DAB that are not anywhere else. Like digital TV, a lot depends on whether they are stations you want. In theory, quality is better on DAB, but much depends on the overall quality of the radio. My ancient hi-fi with its FM tuner sounds a lot better than my portable DAB radio. Eventually, FM will close down and you’ll need a DAB receiver – but there are no dates yet.

just for listening to radio its not worth the expence. i mean i like my music and i would upgrade my audio equipment but this dab thing i dont think its worth the added expence just for radio. but thats just my view.

Only if you’ve got decent DAB coverage. Personally I hate DAB radios, as you can only listen to a limited number of stations which are what they allow you to do. At least with the FM version you could tune to distant stations like TodayFM in Dublin, CenturyFM in Manchester etc. Also if you’re using DAB radio on battery, you’ll go through a rook load of batteries compared with an analogue radio.
