I mean Hip Hop is so garbage latley that half of what I listen to is rock now just cuz I need something original. I hate the new stuff.
I listen to some new stuff like the nas and jay z but what is happening wit the game.

Sorry I can’t answer your question. You are quite right. Besides the legends of the genre who are still making hits there is hardly anyone new on the scene to really give credit to..except Kanyae and a couple others who aren’t so new anymore. Hip-Hop sound is changing and I do not know if I am changing with it. Lately I have been listening to music on my pc which composes of the old classic rap and some new sounds from not so new artist and other types of music. This is all I listen to. I can no longer listen to the radio stations that play new age hip-hop/rap now. This is music I have always defended because to me it was another form of expression and talent but now I am not at all so sure.

i agree, only good stuff coming out lately is from legends (nas, mf doom, common, talib kweli) and a select few new artists (joe buddens, kanye west). That being said most of myipod is rap from 80s, 90s, and early 2000’s (talib kwelis quality, mf dooms madvillany).
i think it is because rappers today are only focused on making money. not that they could be like biggie if they tried but in the early rap days rappers wernt multi millionaires and actually focused on making good music instead of what will sell me a million albums. the fans of that music make it worse and taint the image of GOOD hip hop.

I couldn’t put it better myself.
I still listen to all my old hip hop vinyls, but for new music I now turn to rock, drum n bass, reggae…..pretty much anything!!
Most hip hop is f*ckin SHITE nowadays.
One thing I have to say tho, don’t give up completely, check out MF Doom, Klashnekoff, Cannibal Ox, if you want some decent hip hop, it’s all underground.
